Desde hace un año que se inició la cirugía de la epilepsia en nuestro Hospital, todos los pacientes susceptibles de tratamiento quirúrgico son evaluados antes y después de la intervención quirúrgica desde el punto de vista neuropsicológico.
La batería utilizada cumple una serie de condiciones y evalúa düerentes funciones: intelectuales, linguísticas, gnósicas, práxicas, mnésicas, lateralización, memoria… Se valoran tanto las funciones alteradas como las preservadas y se realiza un análisis conjunto de los datos neuropsicológicos, relacionando los resultados con las características lesionales y quirúrgicas.
Since we are performing epilepsy surgery at our hospital, one year ago, all patients suitable for surgey are evaluated before and after the operation from the neuropsychological point of view. The set of tests applied fulfills sorne conditions and evaluates different functions: intellectual, linguistic, logical, praxis, gnostic, lateralization, etc.
Both the altered and preserved neurological functions are evaluated and a joint analysis of the neuropsychological data are made; the results are then related to the characteristics of the lesion and the surgery performed.
