Summary

An experimental study on a model of undifferentiated neuroectodermal tumor has been accomplished in order to know the possible antitumor effect of a tetracycline derivative (minocycline), with capacity to induce an inhibition of the tumor angiogenesis. The intratumoral administration of minocycline on the experimental tumor IL-7, during 4 weeks, it did not modify the growth of the tumor neither its pattern of angiogenesis. These results suggest the scarce usefulness of research that try of controlling the growth of undifferentiated neoplasias of the Nervous System by means of a supposed inhibition of tumor angiogenesis induced by tetracycline derivatives.
