Summary

The growth period of intracranial aneurysms reportedly varies from several months to years. Those growing in only days are extremely rare, especially if they have not been operated upon. We report arare case of rapidly growing aneurysm of the posterior inferior cerebellar artery that enlarged from 3mm to 19mm in 25 days in a patient without-previous surgery. We review the different theories and factors that contribute to formation, enlargement and rupture of aneurysms and discuss the pathogenesis in our case based on the pathological findings.
