Neurovascular rarity should not exempt authors from reporting the antithrombotic strategy in detail
Patrick Gonzales Romero, Fritz Fidel Váscones-Román
Highlights

  • Antithrombotic management is a core component of neurovascular care and should not be treated as a secondary or optional detail in case-based reports.

  • Key reporting items include baseline antiplatelet or anticoagulant exposure, treatment rationale, antiplatelet dosing, periprocedural anticoagulation, interruption, modification or reversal strategies, re-initiation, monitoring, and related outcomes.

  • A minimum reporting framework may improve the reproducibility, transparency, and practical value of neurovascular case reports and small series.

  • Rarity increases, rather than reduces, the need for detailed therapeutic reporting in neurovascular publications.

Pre-proof. Available online 22 July 2026
