Se describen dos casos de sinus pericranii de localización lateral sobre la bóveda craneal. Estas lesiones representan malformaciones vasculares epicraneales infrecuentes en las cuales el estudio angiográfico carotídeo no revela alteraciones, haciéndose el diagnóstico mediante la inyección directa de contraste en la lesión epicraneal, lo que permite ver la comunicación entre dicha lesión y la circulación venosa intracraneal. Generalmente el sinus pericranii no causa importante sintomatología y puede considerarse como una opción válida adoptar un tratamiento conservador.
We hereby report two cases of laterally situated sinus pericraii, which are rare vascular malformations of the cranial vault. According to the articles regarding this type of lesions, carotid angiograms revealed no pathological findings, and venograms taken with direct injection of contrast medium into the mass were useful, showing communication between extra and intracranial venous circulation. It should be stressed that sinus pericranii must be considered in the differential diagnoses of epicranial tumors. Generally, these lessions cause no trouble and a conservative management is a valid option.
