Resumen

Se presentan los resultados de un protocolo para el estudio de pacientes con angina intratable sometidos a estimulación medular. El protocolo fue seguido en 19 pacientes intervenidos entre octubre de 1988 y octubre de 1991. El seguimiento incluye estudios clínicos, analíticos, ergométricos, hemodinámicos, control farmacológico y del estado de salud. Los resultados demuestran que la estimulación medular mejora significativamente la sintomatología clínica y los estudios ergométricos y la ausencia de cambios en los parámetros bioquímicos o en la toma de medicación.

Summary

The design and results of a protocol for the study of patients with intractable angor pectoris treated with cervical spinal cord stimulation are presented. A total of 19 patients were operated on between october 1988 and october 1991. The protocol includes clinical and biochemical controls, ergometric and hemodynamic studies, drug intake needs and health studies. Results show a significant improvement both in clinical and health parameters and in ergometric tests, with no changes in biochemical studies and durug intake.
