Summary

The authors have studied the assimilation of pretreated human duramater (P.H.D.) grafts. Ninety Sprague-Dawley albin rats were selected as experimental animals. In the first series (40 rats) P.H.D. grafts were implanted in a previously drilled cranial defecto Calcification and bone tissue neoformation was observed. In the second series (30 rats) the grafs were implanted in the muscles of the abdomen. Dystrophic calcification without ossification was observed in this group. The third series (20 rats) were used as control group. Simple cranial defect was done without implantation of P.H.D. and only scar tissue without calcification or ossification was observed. It seems that P.H.D. grafts have osteogenic potential with local specificity factors.
