Se hace un estudio de veintiséis rinoliquorrreas tratadas en el Hospital Vall d'Hebron durante un período de cinco años (1984–1988), estudiando las variables edad, sexo, clínica, exámenes. complementarios, y su tratamiento. Se hace una revisión de la literatura.
Encontramos un promedio de edad de 36 años, con predominio del sexo masculino. Las rinoliquorreas postraumáticas fueron más frecuentes (65,38%), las dos manifestaciones iniciales que marcaron la pauta fueron la rinoliquorrea y la meningitis.
Se analiza la efectividad de los exámenes complementarios, encontrando que las técnicas más útiles son la cisternografía isotópica y la tomografía computarizada con metrizamida.
This is a study of twenty-six cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) rhinorrheas, treated in the Vall d' Hebron Hospital between 1984 and 1988.
The age, sex, paraclinic examinations, and treatment variables have been studied. The literature has been reviewed.
The age of the study average 36 year, the masculine sex was predominate, the post-traumatic CSF rhinorrhea was more frecquent (65,38%), the rhinorrhea and menigitis were initial more important symptoms.
The effectiveness of the complementary examination are analized, the best diagnostic methods were radionuclide cistemography and computed tomography with metrizamide.
The effectiveness of the diferents treatments, medical, CSF derivates systems and surgical repair, are analized.
