Se presenta un caso de exploración neuropsicológica pre-post quirúrgica de un paciente de 46 años que ha de ser operado de un astrocitoma grado II en la región frontal derecha. Para ello se han utilizado tests neuropsicológicos que revelan deterioro de las funciones cognitivas superiores en pacientes con daño en el lóbulo frontal. Los resultados obtenidos indican alteraciones en la conducta del paciente y déficit cognitivos específicos en áreas de memoria, habilidades visuoespacial y visuoperceptivas, razonamiento y funciones ejecutivas, presentando un claro “síndrome frontal”.
The authors present the results of neuropsychological assessment in a 45-year-old man before and after he was operated for a right frontal lobe astrocitoma (Grade II). Neuropsychological techniques disclosed disorders in the patient's behavior and in specific cognitive deficits, such as memory, visual-spatial and visual-perceptive functions, reasoning and executive functions, showing a clear “frontal syndrome”.
