El hematoma epidural raquídeo es una complicación excepcional de la terapia anticoagulante. Se presenta el caso de un paciente sometido a tratamiento anticoagulante durante 9 años que desarrolló un hematoma epidural cervical. El paciente fue intervenido quirúrgicamente recuperándose completamente. Los autores destacan la presentación atípica del caso y resaltan la necesidad del reconocimiento y tratamiento quirúrgico precoz en esta rara entidad.
Spinal epidural haematoma is a rare complication of anticoagulant therapy. The case of a patient treated with anticoagulant drugs for nine years who developed a cervical epidural haematoma is presented. The patient was surgically treated and completely recovered. The authors ponit out the atypical clinical presentation of this case and emphasize the importance of early recognition and surgical treatment in this rare entity.
