La hemorragia intracerebral que aparece tras la evacuación de un hematoma subdural crónico es una complicación rara y de graves consecuencias. El aumento brusco del flujo sanguíneo cerebral en el hemisferio subyacente al hematoma tras la rápida descompresión, es considerado como el mecanismo más probable causante de este problema. Se presentan dos nuevos casos de hematomas intracerebrales aparecidos tras la evacuación de hematomas subdurales crónicos.
Intracerebral hemorrhage ocurring after chronic subdural hematoma evacuation, is a rare and very serious postoperative complication. The sudden increase of cerebral blood flow in the hemisphere beneath the hematoma, is the most likely mechanism responsible for this situation. Two new cases of intracerebral hemorrage after evacuation of chronic subdural hematomas are reported.
