In this review, the morphologic and biologic features of oligodendrogliomas are described. These tumors constitute 8 per cent of intracranial gliomas and they are relatively benign neoplasms. Microscopically, oligodendrogliomas show characteristic features and their biological behavior is generally considered as unpredictable. In any case, these tumors show tendency to local recurrence, with progressive histological features of malignancy.
