Os autores revêem 9 casos de linfomas cerebrais primários operados no Hospital de Santo António, entre 1985 e 1993. Todos os doentes foram submetidos a craniotomia e o material histológico foi estudado utilizando técnicas histoquímicas de coloração e técnicas imunocitoquímicas. Todos os casos foram diagnosticados como linfomas não-Hodgkin de fenótipo B, oito de alto grau de malignidade e um de baixo grau (imunocitoma). Nenhum dos casos apresentava relação com imunodeficiência ou infecção por vírus Epstein-Barr.
Nine cases of primary central nervous system lymphoma operated between 1985 and 1993 at the Hospital Santo António are analysed. The histhological material collected by craniotomy in all cases was studied by diferent staining and imunohisthological techniques. All were B cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma with eight high grade tumors and one imunocitoma. No patient was imunologically suppressed or had Epstein-Barr virus infection.
