Summary

We report the case of a meningioma of the falx associated with contralateral hemiparkinsonism and reduced uptake in brain single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). Complete removal of the tumor led to total remission of extrapyramidal symptoms and improved perfusion of the previously affected areas. We review the subject of parkinsonism associated with intracranial mass lesions and discuss the different causative mechanisms.
