Os meningiomas dos ventrículos laterais são uma patologia rara, tendo na literatura uma incidencia de 1.5–2.0 % de todos os meningiomas intracraneanos.
Os autores fazem um estudo retrospectivo de 3 doentes operados a meningiomas do trígono ventricular esquerdo, no Serviço de Neurocirurgia do Hospital Geral de Santo António, de 1988 a 1994, num total de 159 meningiomas intracraneanos. Na série em estudo, os meningiomas dos ventrículos laterais são 1.8 % do total. É dado especial relevo à sintomatologia, aos meios auxiliares de diagnóstico, à via cirúrgica, as indicações para radioterapia pós-operatória e aos resultados finais.
Lateral ventricle meningiomas are known as arare pathology, representing 1.5–2.0 % of all the intracranial meningiomas.
The authors performed a retrospective study of 3 patients operated for meningiomas of the lateral ventricle between 1988–1994 at the Neurosurgical Service of the Hospital Gral de Santo António, Porto, Portugal. During this period 159 intracranial meningiomas were operated on and so the lateral ventricle meningiomas were 1.8 % the total cases. We emphazise the sintomatology, the diagnostic methods, the surgical technique, the indications for post operative radiotherapy and the final results.
