Summary

Meningiomas are tumours that appear frequently in adults but rarely found in children. We present here four cases of meningiomas in children 5–12 years old. This work analyzes the clinical, radiological and histological characteristics of these tumours. In our study we observed that there were no differences in tumours of either sex; that they had a shorter clinical evolution in comparison with adult tumours; there was a predominance of intraventricular localization; they had a high proportion of histological aggresive forms of the papilar variety; that similar CT scan characteristics occur in both the papilar tumorations and their size were great, relative to adults.
