Se presenta el caso de un paciente con lumbalgias y dificultad en la marcha, objetivándose con Resonancia Magnética (RM) dos metástasis lumbosacras procedentes de un oligodendroglioma cerebral que fue intervenido 5 años antes. El paciente fue intervenido de las metástasis lumbosacras, administrándose a continuación radioterapia espinal. La evolución fue favorable durante los siguientes dieciocho meses con mejoría del cuadro clínico. La evolución posterior fue de crecimiento del tumor cerebral con afectación del tronco, falleciendo al cabo de 6 meses.
We report the case of a ‘patient which presented clinically with lumbago and difficulty in walking. MR images revealed two lumbosacral metastases from a cerebral oligodendroglioma that had been treated surgically five years earlier. Following removal of the lumbosacral metastases the patient received spinal radiotherapy. The patient's clinical symptoms were relieved and eighteen months later he presented no neurological manifestations of the disease Six months later the brain tumor recurred, involved the brain stem and the patient died.
