Summary

Eight cases of intracranial metastatic neuroblastoma in children· are reported. The interval between diagnosis of primitive neuroblastoma and the development of neurological symptoms ranged from 2 to 30 months (mean = 12,3 months). Cerebral CT scans were performed in all patients. Multiple intracranial metastases were observed in 6 cases and a single metatases in only 2 cases. Treatment regimes were: chemotherapy in 2 cases, chemotherapy and radiotherapy in 5 cases, and surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy in one case with a single metastases, which was located in the cerebellum. Survival after neurological manifestation was short, ranging between 1 and 22 months, (average 9 months). According to our experience cerebral involvement can ben considered a sign of a bad prognosis in the evolution of patients with neuroblastoma.
