A case of convexity meningioma with predominant myxomatous features in a 71 year-old-woman is presented. The relationship of the myxomatous type with other histological variants of meningiomas is discussed. The myxomatous meningiomas show atypical CT-scan and histological features and they have to be considered within the pathological diagnosis of brain tumors showing abundant myxomatous matrix.
Se presenta un caso de meningioma de convexidad con amplia degeneración mixoide, en una paciente de 71 años de edad y se discute su relación con otras variantes de meningioma. Los meningiomas mixomatosos muestran características atípicas, tanto histológicas como de TAC, lo que debe ser tenido en cuenta a la hora de establecer su correcto diagnóstico.
