Presentamos dos casos de quistes epidermoides (colesteatomas) intraespinales dorsales, localización que es poco frecuente. Se trata de dos pacientes que ingresaron en nuestro servicio con diagnóstico de compresión medular, a quienes se les extirpó una tumoración con características macroscópicas y con comprobación posterior por estudio anatomopatológico de quiste epidermoide (colesteatoma), uno de los cuales se localizaba intramedularmente a nivel de D2–D3 y otro localizado intradural extramedular a nivel de D2. Las lesiones fueron estudiadas con RM y extirpadas radicalmente mediante laminectomía. Destacamos la importancia de la RM como método diagnóstico· y de ayuda inapreciable en la planificación quirúrgica.
The authors present two patients with spinal epidermoid cyst verified pathologically. This location is very rare. Both patients presented with symptoms of spinal cord compresion. One lesion located at T2–T3 level and was intramedullary; the other seated at T2 level and was intradural extramedullary. The authors emphasize the value of MRI for the diagnosis and plannig the surgical approach in these patients.
