Los quistes sinoviales espinales se originan desde las facetas articulares. Se trata de una patología rara y descrita habitualmente en la columna vertebral lumbar. En 1985 se publicó el primer caso de quiste sinovial cervical y posteriormente diez casos más han sido comunicados.
Nosotros presentamos un quiste ganglion cervical en una paciente de 82 años de edad que sufría de tetraparesia progresiva e imagen de severa compresión en la RNM. Fue intervenida quirúrgicamente con resultado muy satisfactorio.
True synovial or ganglion cysts arising from a spinal facet joint are reported rarely. Usually in the lumbar vertebrae.
The first case of synovial cyst located in the cervical spine was published in 1985. Thereafter, ten more cases have been reported.
We are reporting a 82 years old female with a cervical ganglion cyst producing a progressive tetraparesis and asevere cord compresion in the MRI. She was operated on with satisfactory results.
