Resumen

Los quistes leptomeníngeos son una complicación poco frecuente de las fracturas de cráneo infantiles y su patogénesis y alternativas terapéuticas siguen siendo objeto de debate. La mayoría de los casos se producen en los primeros meses o años tras la fractura craneal.

Presentamos el caso clínico de un quiste leptomeníngeo en un niño de 15 años, que 14 años antes había sufrido una fractura craneal y que clínicamente debutó con crisis epilépticas y una masa subgaleal lentamente progresiva ubicada sobre la sutura coronal izquierda.

Finalmente se discuten la patogenia y las alternativas terapéuticas en este tipo de lesiones.

Summary

Leptomeningeal cyst is a rare complication of skull fracture in children and their pathogenesis and treatment are still debated. Most cases occur months or years after the original skull fracture.

The authors report a case of leptomeningeal cyst in a 15 year-old boy studied 4 years after cranial trauma. Clinically presented with seizures and an enlarging subgaleal mass over the left coronal suture.

The pathogenesis and the treatment options of this lesion are discussed.
