El quiste coloide intracraneal representa menos del 1% de todos los tumores intracraneales en el adulto, y su incidencia en la infancia es mucho menor, habiéndose presentado aproximadamente 50 casos, de los cuales sólo 14 se dan en niños de 10 años o menos.
Hacemos una revisión de los quistes coloides en la primera década de la vida. Aportamos un nuevo caso de quiste coloide infantil, que debutó con clínica de hipertensión endocraneal en una niña de 5 años. Se exponen además los hallazgos radiológicos y anatomopatológicos de forma detallada.
Intracranial colloid cyst are uncommon and represent less of 1% of all intracranial tumors in the adult. They have rarely been described as presenting in childhood or early adolescence.There are only 50 cases reported, 14 of them under the age of ten years.
We make a review of the literature concerning intracranial colloid cyst in the first decade of life and report a new case in a 5-years old girl, who developed intracranial hypertension. The radiological and pathological findings are commented.
