This is a case of precocious and cystic brain radionecrosis: a 64-year-old woman recived therapeutic radiation (4.400 rads) after being operated on for an oligodendroglioma in the right fronto-temporal region. Not long after the beginning of the radiotherapy, she developed symptoms suggestives of radiation encephalopathy.
Three months later, C. T. disclosed an occipital cyst in the right hemisphere, which was readily operated on. The patient did well, and the histological examination of the cystic walls was typical of radionecrosis.
