Summary

This article is a brief review, fundamentally adressed to the clinicians readers, on the moderns concepts of oncogenes, protooncogenes, antioncogenes, modulator genes and their relationships with the cell growth and transforming factors (EGF, TGF, FGF, PDGF) and their receptors. The mechanisms of protein secretion into the cell -autocrinia- and the biological «signals » which promote biocynetics reactions and subsequent rise of autonomous celular populations are also remarked, focusing all of these events in the particular field of brain gliomas. Finally some of the most usual chromosomal alterations or genetic material gains or deletions in these tumors are exposed.
