Revisamos una serie de 302 pacientes con tumor cerebral diagnosticados y tratados en el Hospital Universitario de la Universidad de Jordania en Amman, durante un período de 10 años.
Los tumores más frecuentes fueron los neuroepiteliales (51.6%), seguidos por los meningiomas (22.1%), los adenomas hipofisarios (9.6%), los neurinomas del acústico (3.9%) y los tumores metastásicos secundarios (6.6%). Los casos pediátricos representaron el 23% del total. En este estudio se analizan los resultados y se discuten en relación con los datos reflejados en la literatura.
Three hundred and two patient with brain tumor were treated in the Neurosurgical Section at the Jordan University Hospital during a period of 10 years. The most frequent type of tumor found was the Neuroepithelial (51,6%) followed by Meningioma (22.1%), Pituitary Adenoma (9.6%), Acoustic neurinoma (3.9%) and Metastatic tumor (6.6%). The pediatric patients represent 22.1% of the cases.
The frequency and the clinical findings related with the different types of tumor are discussed.
