La neuroendoscopia es una técnica que permite un tratamiento alternativo en pacientes afectos de hidrocefalia obstructiva. Se realizaron fenestraciones neuroendoscópicas en siete pacientes: 3 afectos de estenosis de acueducto, 2 hidrocefalias tabicadas y 2 quistes paraventriculares. En 6 pacientes se obtuvo un resultado satisfactorio sin complicaciones importantes. Se discuten las indicaciones, métodos y ventajas de esta técnica.
Neuroendoscopic procedures are an alternative treatment for patients with obstructive hydrocephalus. Seven patients with different types of hydrocephalus were treated by means of endoscopic technique: aqueductal stenosis in 3 cases, multiseptated hydrocephalus (2 cases), and paraventricular cysts (2 cases). In 6 patients the result was considered good, and there were not significant complications. The indications, methods, and advantages of this technique are discussed.
