The aim of the present study is to assess the utility of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with and without contrast in the preoperative evaluation of cerebellar hemangioblastomas. We report our experience with four cases followed in our Service, and review the Iiterature. We compare the results obtained with conventional neuroimaging tecniques and MRI. The conclusion is that MRI is the elective diagnostic procedure, although in sorne patients, it may be necessary to perform a vertebral angiography to establish a presumption diagnosis.
