Presentamos un caso de neurinoma del nervio facial con origen en la región del ganglio geniculado y extensión en fosa craneal media. La tomografía computerizada (TC) y la resonancia magnética (RM) permitieron establecer preoperatoriamente el diagnóstico de sospecha y la extensión de la lesión. El tumor se extirpó mediante un abordaje intracraneal extradural.
We report a case of facial nerve neurinoma originating from the geniculate ganglion and extending into the middle cranial fossa. Diagnosis and tumor extent were established preoperatively by computed tomography and gadolinium-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging. The tumor was completely removed using an intracranial, extradural approach.
