Se presenta una serie de 29 pacientes afectos de rinorraquia, que en 17 casos era postraumática y en 12 de aparición espontánea. Se expone la técnica del tapizamiento de la fosa anterior utilizada por los autores, así como los resultados obtenidos, que son más favorables en los casos postraumáticos que en los espontáneos, de los que un 25% son rebeldes a esta técnica. Se analizan los argumentos expuestos por los especialistas O.R.L. que a juicio de los autores no son suficientes para excluir el tratamiento neuroquirúrgico, por vía intracraneal, de estos procesos.
A series of 29 cases of CSF rhinorrhea is analyzed. CSF leak was postraumatic in origin in 17 patients and spontaneous in the remaining cases.
The transcranial surgical approach is described. The results were excellent in patients wich postraumatic fistula, but there were 25% failures in patients with spontaneous rhinorrhea.
The advantages of the neurosurgical approach in comparison with the extracranial, ORL techniques, are discussed.
