Sumario

El gran desarrollo en las últimas décadas de la Cirugía Craneofacial ha incidido de una forma muy importante en el tratamiento de las craneosinostosis.

En efecto, una patología que era clásicamente neuroquirúrgica se está transformando rápidamente por efecto de las nuevas técnicas quirúrgicas en claramente multidisciplinaria.

Pretendemos revisar nuestra experiencia con la mayoría de estas técnicas, presentando 109 casos de sinostosis craneofaciales tratados en nuestra Unidad de Cirugía Craneofacial desde 1989 y al mismo tiempo realizar una puesta al día del problema.

Summary

Treatment of craniosynostosis has changed dramatically since the new development of the craniofacial techniques, in the last few decades.

Nowadays this classically neurosurgical pathology, has benefited from a multidisciplinary approach.

We present our experience with this new techniqueso We have treated 109 patients with craniofacial synostosis in our Craniofacial Unit since 1989. In addition, we discusse the state of the art of such techniques.
