Se presenta el caso clínico de un paciente de 25 años de edad, agredido por arma blanca a nivel suboccipital izquierdo, con pérdida del nivel de conciencia y tetraplejia inmediata. Fue tratado mediante reparación quirúrgica de fístula del líquido cefalorraquídeo (LCR) y tratamiento con antibiótico. La evolución clínica fue favorable con recuperación neurológica importante.
Se discuten la patogénesis y el pronóstico de este tipo de traumatismos.
We present the case of a 25-year-old male patient, stabbed in the left suboccipital region with a knife. There were transient loss of consciousness and quadriplegia. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) fistula was repaired and the patient received antibiotic therapy. The Clínical course was satisfactory with neurological improvement. The pathogenesis and progI!0sis of this type of injury are discussed.
